What are Dinosaurs?
Dinosaurs are reptiles that lived on Earth during the Mesozoic Era (around 252 million years ago). Due to their large size, these reptiles were able to dominate the planet until their extinction more than 60 million years ago.
What Do Dinosaurs Look Like?
If you’re familiar with dinosaurs, then you’ve probably noticed that some of them look similar to animals living today – birds and crocodiles for example!
Today’s modern technology leads us closer to what dinosaurs might have looked like when they roamed our planet millions of years ago. However, there is still a lot we don’t know about these cool extinct creatures from the past. To learn more about dinosaurs, I recommend checking out The Dinosaur Book.

This tutorial teaches you a bit about the sauropod and how to draw one. Here are a few things to note when drawing a sauropod according to the artist:
The shoulders were much higher than the hips. The center of gravity was over the shoulders.
The skulls, like most of the body, were built to minimize weight and still remain strong. Gaps in the skull made for a light but strong structure.
As prey beasts, sauropods had excellent sight and smell. Brachiosaurus had peg-like teeth and an overbite. They stripped leaves and swallowed them whole. Hadrosaurs were chewers, not sauropods.
The hips were narrower than the torso, which gave them a wide stance. Additionally, the back foot was designed to bear more weight than the front.
